Therapy for Depression and Mood Disorders

Those who suffer from depression understand how overwhelming it is - like a grey cloud hanging over your life. Bringing hopelessness and regrets with it, depression affects how we see ourselves, our world, and our future. Sometimes, the idea of finding relief feels impossibly far.

Psychotherapy is a proven method to relieve depression. Addressing both the internal factors that support depression (such as interpretations of events, mindset, and stress management), as well the external factors (including lifestyle, difficult relationships, career/education, and culture), psychotherapy attempts to approach depression from every angle that is relevant to a person’s life.

Entering therapy for depression can be a life changing process and finding the right therapist for you is the most important factor. While I use tools from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is a research-supported technique to relieve depression, clinical research has also shown that feeling comfort, trust, and confidence in your therapist is the most important factor in the success of therapy. I invite those considering therapy for depression to reach out to me to see if you feel comfortable working with me.
